 FILE DESCRIPTION:
File Description: This is a repaint of ROTW's original Beechcraft Staggerwing, a FLY!II aircraft.

 ABOUT THIS AIRCRAFT:
Information on Staggerwing N295BS, operated by DBAF ( Duke of Brabant Air Force )

In 1939 the USAAC took delivery of three Model D17S biplanes and designed them YC-43.
These aircraft were assigned to US Air Attachs.
The first one (built with c/n 295) went to London, England, serialled 39-139 for use by Brig/Gen.
Martin F. Scanlon, flying from Hatfield and Hendon.
It was impressed by the RAF as DR628 in May 1941 and went to No.24Sq at Hendon.
Rumours say that it was flown frequently by HRH Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands before he received his own
 Staggerwing (serialled PB1).
This Beech 17 was the first to enter service with US Army Air Corps and RAF, a unique combination.
By the end of the war the aircraft was returned to the US-AAF.
After the war, she had several civil owners.
The aircraft is restored to her original US Embassy London colourscheme, sporting a blue fuselage, yellow wings
 and a red-white striped rudder.
The aircraft is owned by Southern Cross International, an Eindhoven based aircraft ferry-company.
She is operated for commercial purposes in Europe and is available for air displays via the DBAF.
